I bought this to wipe out a small population of Bed Bugs. I used it at two tablespoons per gallon and sprayed per instructions, 4 applications, spaced every third day. I have pets and this product is safe to use without having to remove them from the house That was the deciding factor. I must note that this product doesn't list it's use on Bed Bugs. The city of Cleveland used it for eradication Bed Bugs in it's public housing with great success..Google it. My house is now Bed Bug free.

I had a family member decide to stay a week because they were treating there home for bed bugs...well my spare room has a waterbed and guess where they spread there mf bugs...anyway if you have a reg bed or couch with bed bugs go to lowes and get the bayer bed bug killer...small spray cans but it kills residually for weeks..bayer is the best for the normal problems..now if you dont want to spray and wear gloves and all that crap...catch as many bed bugs as you can put them bas!ards in a glass cup or container where they cant get out...take a piece of fabric...cotton works for weeks ...wet the cotton with a small paint brush with the Botanigard Es Biological Insecticide.. let the fabric dry or it will kill them,,after it drys ...transfer the bed bugs into your container with the treated fabric...let them stay on it for a day or so... then release your newly infected trojan horses.. back wherever your infestation is and boom...problem solved...they will go right to the nest and begin killing the whole family..I did this over a few weeks and they are all gone

BotaniGard is not OMRI listed only because of the oil distillates used in the ES formulation
but it's as close to organic as you can get.
Use it right up to the day of harvest!
- Superior formulation: highest spore concentration in a Beauveria-containing insecticide
- Insect control which equals or exceeds chemical insecticides
- Unique mode of action: spores infect directly through the insect's cuticle
- Excellent tool for resistance management
- Compatible for tank-mixes with many pesticides
- Exempt from residue tolerance and has a 0-day pre-harvest interval
- 4-hour REI
- NO harsh chemicals
- Used by professional growers for more than 10 years
BotaniGard is a biological insecticide. It is based on the highly successful fungus, Beauveria bassiana, strain GHA. Because of BotaniGard's superior formulation, higher spore concentration, higher viability and proven performance, it outperforms other Beauveria-containing products.
When properly applied BotaniGard insect control can equal or exceed that of chemical insecticides.
Mushrooms That Kill Bed Bugs
Getting rid of bed bugs once they get established in your home is a major problem. They are becoming resistant to many commonly used sprays, they hide in the tiniest spaces, and they travel all over the world in our luggage. While not actually dangerous to our health, bed bugs are a nuisance we can do without. A group of Penn State researchers came up with the idea to attack bed bugs with their natural enemy – a fungus called Beauveria bassiana. The results of their study have been published in the latest issue of the Journal of Invertebrate Pathology.
The power of Biopesticides
Organic farmers are very familiar with Beauveria bassiana, because it is used, together with other pest natural enemies, to kill many plant parasites such as aphids and thrips. The fungus works rapidly and once a bug is infected, it dies very fast. Like a number of other biopesticides, Beauveria is an effective, environmentally friendly and cheap pest control. It exists naturally in the soil, so it is a natural part of our environment.
Biopesticides are becoming an important alternative to chemical pesticides. Chemical pesticides accumulate in the soil, in the produce and in the water tables, and can cause serious health problems to humans. With prolonged use of chemical pesticides, many plant pests become resistant to them and they have to be used in larger quantities or stronger doses, increasing the danger.
Bed bugs remedies
Like with other parasites, there are effective chemical pesticides for bed bugs. But, because they have to be used in domestic, inside environment, their effects on human health can be even more serious than with agricultural pesticides. That is one of the reasons researchers tried to see how would Beauveria bassiana affect bed bugs.
The results were beyond their expectations. Not only that the bed bugs sprayed with Beauveria bassiana died within five days, but they also infected other bed bugs in the same environment, which were not in contact with the spray. This is particularly important with bed bugs, which can hide in unreachable spaces, such as behind the light switch plates and baseboards.
The researchers found that the Beauveria fungus as a spray is stable and easy to reproduce. It is also very rarely reported to affect humans and other animals. Like with any other fungus, which reproduce with spores, people with asthma and other breathing disorders should be careful not to be exposed to it.

Works on bed bugs

They're still researching this mycoinsecticide for bed bug treatment, so don't skip heat treatment. However, it does kill them, and it does it pretty well. Please note that the manufacturer does not officially endorse this product for home treatment of bed bugs, I did this after doing some research and at my own risk.
To prepare for bed bug treatment, I followed the safety instructions for PPE while mixing and spraying.
I mixed 100ml with 900ml of clean room temperature water. If the water is hot, it will kill the fungus. If it is too cold, it will also kill the fungus. 60-70deg F water is perfect.
I mixed the solution in a 1gal sprayer.
Spray your mattress and box spring and the walls and trim around sleeping areas.
Dry the area with a fan but no heater.
Spray sheets until damp and apply to the bed.
Let them dry before covering the bed to prevent mildew.
Treat the infected area every two days for 1 week, then take a week off, and do it again for 1 week. Do not clean up or remove the bugs, they need to be present to absorb the pathogen and spread it to their nest and eggs. Do not use heat or other insecticides for at least a week after starting this treatment. The fungus needs around 5 days to infect the bed bug colony and they can still feed during that time, so you just have to accept that.
This product is safe for mammals with a body temperature over 80 deg For, since the fungus cannot survive in environments warmer than that it ones that are salty. I have two cats and a python, and all 9 of my animals were fine during treatment. It kills lots of different bugs though, so keep it away from bees and your pet spiders.
Results: Bugs begin to act weird. You will see them crawling in circles on the floor sometimes. They slowly start to shrivel up like raisins, and white fluffy stuff sprouts out of them by day 5 or 6. The fresh hatchlings need to be reinfected, which is why you need the second treatment. After that second one though, they are all gone. I haven't seen any in 6 months.38 people found this helpful

This stuff is expensive, but it really works. I followed Matt's directions and I have an addendum to them. If ye have a tile or linoleum floor this stuff is really slick. Ice skating slick. Be careful and watch yer step. Other than that just follow Matt's directions and yer bedbug problem will clear up. I bought one quart and it was the perfect amount.
