Thrips see the world differently than we do. Many thrips species are naturally attracted to blue wavelengths of light, which is why professional growers often use blue sticky cards specifically for thrips monitoring.

Unlike general yellow sticky cards that attract a wide range of flying insects, blue cards provide a more targeted way to detect and capture adult thrips.

Blue cards help monitor adult populations while Conserve SC and Minx 2 work together to control the infestation and break the life cycle.

Southern AG Surfactant is a non-ionic wetting agent included with this kit to improve spray coverage and consistency.

The surfactant comes as a separate concentrated bottle and is mixed into your spray solution when preparing each application.

On many plants — especially African violets and plants with waxy leaves — spray droplets can bead up and roll off the leaf surface. When this happens, treatment may not spread evenly into areas where pests hide.

Adding a surfactant helps solve this.

It lowers surface tension so your spray spreads into a thinner, more even layer — improving coverage around leaves, crowns, and hard-to-reach areas.

Included 2 oz Surfactant Coverage:
At the recommended rate (5–10 mL per gallon):

• Makes 6–12 gallons of final spray solution

  How to Use for Best Results

   

  Mix:

  Miticide / Insecticide (Choose One):
  1/4–1/2 teaspoon (1.2–2.4 mL) per 1 gallon of water
  • Minx 2 (abamectin) or Conserve SC

   

  Surfactant (Add Last):
  1–2 teaspoons (5–10 mL) per 1 gallon of water

  ⚠️ Important: Do not over-agitate after adding surfactant
  • Excess shaking can cause foaming and uneven application

   

  Mixing Instructions:

• Fill spray tank halfway with water
• Add Minx 2 or Conserve SC and mix thoroughly
• Do not mix both products together
• Top off with remaining water
• Add surfactant last and gently mix
• Use within 12 hours for best effectiveness

• Application Schedule:

  👉 Apply every 5–7 days to break the thrips life cycle and prevent reinfestation

   

  Rotation Example:

• Application 1: Minx 2
• Application 2: Conserve SC
• Repeat as needed
